Attorneys Robert B. Woodruff and Kieran M. Dowling recently settled an employment matter on behalf of a police officer for the sum of $275,000.00.
The police officer was unlawfully denied his civil rights of freedom of speech, freedom to associate, and freedom to vote. Because of the plaintiff police officer’s political affiliations, the defendants retaliated against him by denying him promotions and professional training. The defendants retaliated further against the plaintiff officer after he began his federal lawsuit that alleged violations of 42 U.S.C. § 1983. The case settled at mediation.
