Schiller, Pittenger & Galvin, P.C. Attorneys at Law
Experienced Union County, NJ Attorneys Servicing Clients in New Jersey and Abroad
What started out in 2000 as a two-person firm primarily representing New Jersey auto dealers has grown into a firm with more than a dozen attorneys that service a diverse client base. When Ted Schiller and Perry Pittenger joined forces, each had extensive experience in New Jersey auto dealer law, both having served as general counsel to a large New Jersey auto dealer. In 2016, Ted and Perry welcomed the firm’s third partner, Kevin Galvin. Today, the firm’s attorneys, many of whom joined in the last two decades with extensive experience in various fields, represent clients in the following areas:
Auto Dealership Law
We continue to represent auto dealers in New Jersey and throughout the country. We represent auto dealers in the purchase and sale of dealerships, manufacturer and franchise disputes and consumer fraud actions.
We are active participants in the New Jersey Coalition of Automobile Dealerships. We assist our dealership clients and staff to maintain compliance with all applicable State and Federal regulations.
Personal Injury
The personal injury lawyers at Schiller, Pittenger & Galvin, P.C., handle personal injury matters throughout New Jersey. Car accidents, motorcycle accidents, construction site accidents and dog bite cases are some of the personal injury matters handled by the firm’s personal injury attorneys over the years.
Criminal Defense-Municipal and Superior Court
The criminal defense attorneys at the firm, several of whom are former prosecutors, appear in criminal matters in municipal and Superior Courts across the state.
Estate Litigation
Our attorneys have considerable experience handling probate litigation, including will contests, will construction issues and the validity of trust documents. We have represented clients in contested accountings for both estates and trusts. We have also successfully helped clients in proceedings for the discovery and turnover of estate or trust assets.
Commercial Litigation
The firm represents a wide range of businesses and individuals in contract disputes. These disputes involve restrictive covenants, shareholder disputes and other business-related litigation.
We also represent lender clients in various financing matters. This includes restructuring troubled loans, forbearance agreements, foreclosure proceedings and asset recovery actions.
Business Law
We assist our business clients with counseling regarding legal issues that arise in the day-to-day operations of a business. These issues include employee issues, local and state government regulations and disputes with vendors.
Our banking and financial services clients include commercial banks, finance companies and other institutional lenders. We help our clients close on a wide variety of financing matters, such as asset-based loans, real estate loans and letters of credit.
Employment Litigation/Discrimination/Wrongful Termination
The employment attorneys at the firm represent employers and employees in matters involving claims of wrongful termination, discrimination and wage and hour disputes.
The civil rights lawyers at the firm have successfully represented police officers, firefighters and other municipal employees in cases involving New Jersey’s Law Against Discrimination and the New Jersey Civil Rights Act.
We also represent employees who, in violation of New Jersey’s Conscientious Employee Protection Act, have been retaliated against for whistleblowing activities \.
Real Estate Litigation
In any real estate transaction, the possibility of one party failing or refusing to close on a transaction is always there. Our real estate litigation attorneys are ready to litigate a real estate matter if necessary. We represent buyers and sellers in both commercial and residential real estate litigations.
We know what is required of buyers and sellers and prepare our clients accordingly. If any problems arise (and they sometimes do), we address them immediately and make every effort to resolve them without resorting to litigation.
Land Use Litigation
Our land use litigation attorneys represent commercial and residential property owners appealing adverse decisions on the approval of proposed projects and responding to objectors to those projects. In addition, we represent property owners opposing neighboring projects, which will have a negative impact on their own property.
Land Use, Planning and Zoning
The experienced New Jersey land use attorneys at the firm can help homeowners, builders and developers who want to buy or sell, lease, expand, or develop real estate.
We represent individuals and companies, as applicants and as objectors, before zoning and planning boards across the state. In addition, we have acted in the past as counsel for planning boards and zoning boards of adjustment.
Moreover, we have prepared and filed applications for site plans, subdivisions and variances. By the same token, we have also worked on redevelopment plans
Real Estate Law
Residential and commercial property owners who are buying, selling or leasing real estate need the help of experienced New Jersey real estate attorneys. The real estate lawyers at the firm can help clients buy their dream house, expand their business by buying a larger warehouse or get the financing to acquire new buildings or purchase land to develop.
Estates and Trusts-Planning and Administration
Our estate planning attorneys help clients in drafting wills, trusts, healthcare directives and more.
We work with executors and court-appointed estate administrators in collecting the deceased’s assets. Furthermore, we ensure the proper distribution of those assets according to the terms of the will, trust or applicable probate law.
